Back in 2021, Del Rey informed Mojo she was engaged on an album consisting of countrified versions of a few of her previous hits. "I went again and listened to 'Experience' and 'Video Video games' and thought, you already know they're sort of nation," she advised the publication. "Perhaps the best way 'Video Video games' acquired remastered, they're pop — however there's something Americana about it for positive."
