BBC Look North presenter Jeff Brown has announced he is leaving the programme after 21 years.

Over the previous 20 years Brown has been one of the presenters on Look North, first becoming a member of in 2003.

Although sport has been his speciality, he's also fronted the bulletins regularly.

Sharing the information of his departure on social media, he wrote the following,

'News simply in…after almost 21yrs with BBC Look North I'm shifting on,' he started.

'Tasks within the pipeline with BBC & others, but (as you possibly can see) it's been enjoyable, and an enormous, fantastic a part of my life.

'Thanks for watching,' he added, alongside a hilarious photograph of him behind a desk in a basic enterprise up prime, get together on the bottom get-up (a shirt, tie and go well with jacket paired with some shorts).

He was shortly flooded with messages of help.

'Good luck Jeff! You're top-of-the-line we have now,' Dan Jackson commented.

'Legend! And I don't use that word calmly,' Luke Edwards shared.

'Wow, end of an era! Good luck for the longer term Jeff. Hopefully see you around,' Mark Douglas added.

Meanwhile fellow BBC star Nick Owen additionally wrote: 'All the most effective, Jeff. Congrats on all of your high-quality years with Look North.'

BBC Editor for the North East and Cumbria Kay Wright wrote that the presenter was going to be 'massively missed by audiences and sporting communities throughout the region, as well as his colleague'.

In a press release, Brown later stated presenting the present had been the 'undoubted spotlight of my profession' and something he might 'never have imagined once I set out as a journalist'.

'It has been an absolute pleasure and a privilege to work with such gifted and devoted groups through the years, and I'm proud to rely them as my pals,' he stated.

Mr Brown started his profession on the Sunderland Echo as an adolescent, before spending 4 years at Birmingham Submit & Mail, earlier than shifting on to The Journal newspaper in Newcastle.

He then spent seven years with ITV Tyne Tees Tv, before becoming a member of the BBC in 2003.
