Darts commentator and Bullseye star Tony Green has died aged 85 following a 'long battle with Alzheimer's', the TV show has confirmed.

Born on January 29, 1939, Green made big contributions to the world of darts and broadcasting after enjoying for a few years as an newbie.

The official web page of Bullseye announced the news on social media, because the TV recreation show wrote: 'It's with a very heavy coronary heart that we announce the passing of our pricey good friend and far liked colleague Mr Tony Inexperienced.

'Tony handed away peacefully at the moment after an extended battle with Alzheimer's.

'Our love, thoughts and prayers go out to all of Tony's family, who we hold such affection for, to all of Tony pals and people who have been fortunate sufficient to work with him.

'Thank you Tony for all the reminiscences, all of the laughs (and trust us there have been many!) and all the particular occasions filming Bullseye together, what fantastic years those have been and we are honoured to have shared them with you.

'You'll be missed our pricey good friend.'

Green was the lead BBC commentator for the primary British Darts Organisation (BDO) World Championship in 1978 and he remained in this place until the Lakeside World Skilled Darts Championships in 2016 – the final one aired by the broadcaster.

It was via his look on Sunday afternoon ITV darts show Bullseye that Green turned a household identify.

Hosted by comic Jim Bowen, the show noticed contestants play for a collection of prizes and Inexperienced's commentary turned memorable for its catchphrases, including 'And Bully's particular prize…'

The show used to attract up to 20 million viewers at its peak within the 1980s.

In December 2010, it was announced on the BDO website that Green had been recognized with most cancers on the tongue and in consequence would not be commentating on the 2011 Lakeside World Darts Championship. He returned in 2012 after a speedy recovery.

Sports blogger Elliot West took to social media with the information, as he wrote: 'RIP Tony Green. A real legend an excellent darts commentator and a central a part of Bullseye.'

Followers have paid tribute, with Alex Casswell writing on X: 'If there was ever a vital a part of @BullseyeTVshow I'll all the time keep in mind then it's Tony Green's nice commentary, his banter with Jim Bowen and his nonetheless iconic catchphrases like "INNNNNN ONNEE!" and "Bully's particular prize!" The world has misplaced such a fantastic man.'

Fan Neil Watson wrote: 'Sad information as we speak. Tony Inexperienced and Jim Bowen brought lots of enjoyable and enthusiasm to the present and it's upsetting that they have both left us now. RIP Tony.'

Consumer @Dw_8004 stated: 'Without question bullseye was my absolute favorite present when growing up. Good Sunday afternoon entertainment. Jim and Tony have been good collectively. My condolences to all of Tony's family, RIP Legend.'

Bowen died in March 2018 at the age of 80, and Inexperienced took to social media to pay tribute at the time, as he wrote: 'Lost a legend right now, but most of all a good friend. RIP Jim x'

In January it was reported that there are talks to bring Bullseye back following the large interest in Luke Littler's journey within the World Darts Championship.

Whereas no formal conversations seem to have taken place, former Prime Gear host Paddy McGuinness was talked about as a potential host.
