Kim Petras is opening up about why she went to remedy following the discharge of her and Sam Smith's music "Unholy," and the way she has adapted to life within the public eye.

"Therapy was needed for me after having a huge track, to discover ways to shut every part off," Petras, 31, informed Cosmopolitan UK in an interview revealed on Friday, March 15. "I had a therapist in my teen years and stopped when issues acquired busy. But I missed having somebody to let the whole lot out to. I recommend remedy to everybody; it's a vital device. … The music business can get very hectic."

Although Petras has been recording music since she was young, her fame reached new heights after she teamed up with Smith, 31, for the music "Unholy," which dropped in September 2022. The tune instantly turned successful, earning Greatest Pop Duo/Group Efficiency at the 2023 Grammys. Petras and Smith turned the first brazenly trans and non-binary artists to take house the award.

The "XXX" singer shared that after the sudden success of "Unholy," she felt like issues shortly modified in her life.

"It was insane," she famous to the outlet. "It took over my life. Out of the blue I was touring lots, and there were more eyeballs on me than ever before. It felt like a huge breakthrough, because it shifted the music business's notion of me and what I might do."

Along with turning to therapy, Petras found help in Smith as she experienced life in the limelight.

"Sam's such an exquisite individual, and has been my coach in a number of ways," she gushed. "If I feel in a disaster, or learn one thing about myself that I can't cope with, I'll textual content or name them. That degree of media consideration is absolutely scary; it pressured me to develop as a person, and it's so inspiring to see Sam be capable of brush that off."

Petras launched her newest EP, Slut Pop Miami, in February, which she described as a "actually specific, fun undertaking" to work on.
