RECENT stirrings of Costco's unique return policy guidelines has one shopper fretting over their lack of receipt.
Costco operates under a 100% satisfaction or money-back policy, which many have taken to its limits, cashing in on mattresses and thousands of dollars in prior purchases.
One Redditor, knowing this policy, took to questioning if it extended to customers with out a receipt.
/Icy_Entertainment706 posted on a Costco forum to ask their question after a product they bought failed in just three weeks.
"I've never returned anything at Costco, not familiar with their return policy," they wrote.
It turns out all they needed to bring back was a jacket that was in disrepair.
"I purchased a jacket approximately 3 weeks ago. Zipper has already failed. I didn't keep the receipt," they explained the situation.
Somewhere along the way, they heard a rumor that Costco did not need a receipt.
"Can Costco tell your purchases from your membership card?" they asked the members of the forum.
The response they received was more than satisfying.

- Via logging into their account online
- Customer service looks it up in-store
Costco customers explained their own experience and understanding of the policy.
"Get the Costco app, all of your receipts are loaded onto it [about] 24h after purchase," explained one user.
"They will ask you the month you bought it. They can look up every purchase you have ever made on your card," added another.
"The last several returns I've made they didn't even want to look at the receipt. It just came up when they scanned the item," recalled one poster.
Commenters on the thread lauded the store for easy access to receipts.
"In my opinion, not needing to keep track of receipts for potential returns is the best perk of a Costco membership," wrote one user.
"That's so awesome!! I freaking LOVE it," added another user to an explanation of the receipt logs.
"This is the way as it speeds up the process in general," wrote another shopper.
