DENNY'S customers have been left upset following a symbolic move at a location that would mark the end of an era.
A Denny's location in Worcester, Massachusetts removed its iconic sign and left a sad note to its diners.
The sign came down on March 29 just two weeks after the location shut its doors.
This restaurant on 494 Lincoln St. closed for good on March 13, according to the Telegram and Gazette.
The branch had been open to locals and diners for over 30 years.
Denny's shared a heartfelt statement to its staff and customers.
"Deciding to close a restaurant is never an easy decision, and one that isn't made lightly," the statement said.
"We'd like to thank our team members and local community for their love of the Denny's brand.
"We hope guests can visit nearby locations around Massachusetts."
Locals can enjoy the next closest Denny's location in Leominster, around 20 miles north of Worcester.
The sign removal marked the symbolic end of this Denny's location.
One local (@CraigSemon) shared images of the removal and his thoughts on X, formerly Twitter.

Other locals shared their thoughts on the news, including memories from the past.
"Many a night I stumbled in there with my rat pack after a night at The Red Barn," one person wrote in the post's comments.

This has not been the only Denny's closure to hit the country in recent months, The U.S. Sun has previously reported.
The diner chain shut down two locations in one state.
Idaho lost out on a branch in Boise and a branch in Nampa.
Both of these locations have been listed as permanently closed on Facebook.
The U.S. Sun has reached out to Denny's for comment.
