Boston City Councilor Tania Fernandes Anderson arrested on federal fraud charges after shock investigation
Boston City Councilor Tania Fernandes Anderson has been arrested and charged for allegedly orchestrating 'a complicated kickback scheme' to steal city funds through a staff member who is related to her. Fernandes Anderson, 45, was indicted on five counts of aiding and abetting wire fraud and one count of aiding and abetting theft concerning a program receiving federal funds. The US Attorney's Office, FBI and IRS announced at a press conference that the councilor was taken into custody at her home around 6am Friday.
