Double tragedy as eight year-old boy and man, 39, both drown in famed California bay
An eight-year-old boy and a 39-year-old man died after authorities attempted to rescue them off the coast of Cowell Ranch State Beach, near Half Moon Bay in California. The shocking tragedy occurred just after 3 pm on Sunday. Lifeguards and park rangers initially responded to the emergency. The Santa Clara County Medical Examiner's office identified the eight-year-old boy as Vihaan Mukund and the 39-year-old as Mukund Kalyanaraman Murali. They were both from San Jose.
